Best Onaholes for Beginners by Type

πŸ† Best Overall Beginner Pick: Puni Fuwa Mafia (RideJapan)

puni fuwa mafia onahole review from RideJapan by PercyOna

My personal rating

9,5/10

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

If I had to point every beginner to exactly one onahole, it would be this one. Puni Fuwa Mafia from RideJapan is everything a first buy should be: feels incredibly good, very easy to clean, easy to handle, and durable.

What sets it apart is the double-layer design that most brands get backwards in my opinion. Most dual-layer toys are firmer inside and softer outside, but Puni Fuwa Mafia does the opposite with a bouncy firmer outer layer (their “Bungee Touch” material) and a very soft inner layer (their “Softy Touch” material). That combination is rare, and in my opinion it’s the right way to do it.

What to expect inside:

  • Waves, zigzags, ridges and grooves you can feel clearly despite the softness
  • Stimulating without being intense
  • The material warms up during use, getting softer as you go
  • Flexible enough to accommodate any size comfortably

One tip: use a medium thick japanese lube with this one. It needs a bit more than average, but playing around with different viscosities lets you control the sensation. Thinner lube brings out more texture, thicker lube gives you a smoother, more relaxed glide.

πŸŽ›οΈ Most Versatile Pick: Kaku-Meiki DX Ikura Coaster (PeachToys)

onahole review of kaku-meiki DX ikura coaster from PeachToys by PercyOna

My personal rating

9,5/10

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

If you’re not sure whether you prefer soft and gentle or something with a bit more kick, the Kaku-Meiki DX Ikura Coaster is the one to go with. It’s the most versatile toy on this list, and that makes it a fantastic first buy for anyone who doesn’t yet know their preferences.

What makes it such a great starter? The dual-layer design gives you the best of both worlds: a firm, durable transparent outer layer and a super soft pink inner layer. It’s not fragile like some ultra-soft toys, so you don’t have to be overly precious with it.

Because the intensity gradually increases the deeper you go (gentle at the front, more stimulating at the back), it naturally helps you figure out what you like. That variable sensation is surprisingly rare and incredibly useful for beginners who don’t yet know their preferences.

PeachToys is one of the most underrated brands in the onahole world and this toy is proof of that.

A few other things worth calling out:

  • The opening is wider than most toys, making lube application easy and insertion smooth right from the start
  • Cleanup is simple thanks to the wide entrance and manageable size
  • At 180mm and 600g, it feels premium without being intimidating
  • It even smells pleasant. PeachToys uses a beeswax-like scent in their material that’s oddly charming.

☁️ Softest Option: Tight Spiral Orb Fluffy Mellow SOFT (Magic Eyes)

tight spiral orb fluffy mellow soft review from magicEyes by Percyona

My personal rating

8,8/10

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

This is probably the most popular onahole in its category right now, and it genuinely earns most of the hype. If softness is your absolute top priority, this is amust-have.

The Tight Spiral Orb Fluffy Mellow SOFT is a single-layer toy with a minimalist outside and a spiral tunnel lined with tiny orbs. Nothing complex, just a clean, gentle texture that works beautifully with the ultra-soft material. The spiral design causes a slight twisting motion during use, which adds a subtle extra dimension that I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I do.

It also stretches a lot. Really a lot. So fit is never a concern, and the suction is better than you’d expect for something this soft and simple.

The small caveat: it’s very fragile. Handle with care:

  • Don’t flip it inside out roughly
  • Don’t get anything sharp close to it
  • Be carefully when drying it after cleaning

It’s less forgiving of rough handling than the Puni Fuwa Mafia or Kaku-Meiki DX, so keep that in mind.

πŸ’† Best for Gentle Massage Feel: Mashiro’s Super Soft Hole (Toy’s Heart)

mashiro's super soft hole onahole review from ToysHeart by PercyOna

My personal rating

9/10

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

Mashiro’s Super Soft Hole doesn’t look like much by looking at its box. The packaging is understated compared to most onaholes, but don’t let that fool you. This is one of the best soft onaholes I’ve ever used, and it regularly ranks in my personal top 5.

The material is what sets it apart. Toy’s Heart used a TPE blend that’s genuinely unique: incredibly soft but also surprisingly bouncy. When you squeeze it, it springs back into shape almost instantly, which most soft toys don’t do. It’s a rare combination that feels expensive and satisfying even before you use it.

Inside, the texture is simple: large, bubbly bumps. That’s it. No complex ridges or aggressive patterns, just a gentle, rolling massage that pairs with the soft material to create something that genuinely feels soothing. It’s the onahole equivalent of a massage rather than a workout.

Care note: don’t flip this one inside out. Clean it with a sponge stick or gently with your fingers instead. The material is delicate enough that inverting it isn’t worth the risk. Handle it gently and it will last, but it’s not as durable as firmer options.

The Mashiro’s Super Soft Hole is ideal for long, slow edging sessions. Not the pick if you want intense stimulation.

🎯 Best Beginner Realistic – Meiki 13 Tanaka Remon (NPG)

Meiki no Syoumei 013 Tanaka Remon onahole review from NPG by PercyOna

My rating: 8/10

This is actually my number one recommendation for beginners who want a realistic onahole. I know the ZXY has held that crown for years, but the Tanaka Remon has quietly taken over for me. Here’s why: it hits the middle of everything perfectly.

Not too soft, not too firm. Not too tight, not too loose. Not too intense, not too mild. For a first-time buyer who doesn’t yet know what they prefer, that balance is genuinely valuable. You’re not going to be overwhelmed, and you’re not going to feel underwhelmed either.

Here’s what makes the design stand out:

  • Triple-layer construction – a premium feature you don’t see at every price point
  • Firm, velvety outer skin that mimics real skin and gives you a solid grip during use
  • Softer red inner layer that creates a slight clenching effect for a hint of realism
  • Middle layer that adds a satisfying tightness, almost like real muscle resistance
  • Beautifully sculpted labia – honestly some of the most detailed on any onahole I own
  • Comes with a signed poster, lube bottle, and storage bag right in the box

It’s the tightest non-super-soft toy in my collection, and that squeeze-without-being-extreme feeling is exactly what makes it so satisfying.

One gripe: the tunnel feels a bit short. I reached the end pretty easily and found myself wishing there was just a little more room. Just something to be aware of if you’re on the longer side.

Care note: don’t flip this one inside out. Use a sponge stick and mild soap instead.

πŸ›οΈ Most Iconic Realistic – Meiki 005 ZXY (NPG)

Meiki 005 Chou Shuu U Zhang Xiao Yu ZXY onahole review from NPG by PercyOna

My rating: 9/10

The Meiki 005 ZXY is widely considered the most iconic onahole ever made, often called the “gold standard,” and it absolutely earns that status. Where the Tanaka Remon wins on balance and beginner-friendliness, the ZXY wins on feel. It’s softer, stretchier, and more organic in a way that’s genuinely hard to match.

The design is clever in ways that most beginners won’t notice at first but will absolutely feel:

  • A pre-entry chamber before the actual tunnel begins, making insertion feel remarkably natural
  • A gentle curve and organic bump structure inside that creates a genuinely lifelike sensation
  • An extremely soft, almost elasticated outer layer that stretches in a way most TPE toys simply don’t

It’s pricier than the soft picks above, but the quality justifies it. The box includes a small bottle of lube and a storage bag, which is a nice touch for a first buy.

Care note: don’t flip this one inside out. Clean it with a sponge stick and mild soap. It’s not difficult, just a different method from some of the others.

Why isn’t it my top overall beginner pick despite being legendary? Mainly price, and the fact that soft-feel toys tend to be more immediately enjoyable for first-timers. But if realism is what draws you to onaholes in the first place, skip straight to this one.

πŸ’Ž Splurge/Upgrade Pick – Step-Sister’s Secret Relation (XTC-Japan)

review of Step-Sister’s Secret Relation from XTC-Japan by percyona

My rating: 9/10

This one is a different category entirely. The Step-Sister’s Secret Relation is a 2kg+ onahip. A larger, hip-shaped toy rather than a standard handheld onahole. I’m including it here because it’s a genuinely great first “big toy” for someone ready to spend a bit more and step up from a standard handheld.

What you’re getting:

  • Incredibly soft, single-layer material β€” uniformly plush and remarkably similar in feel to the legendary Puni Virgin 1000 Fuwatoro
  • Two tunnels (vaginal and anal)
  • Unique heart-shaped silhouette that looks great and works for both handheld and hands-free use
  • ~2kg of weight β€” enough to stay in place without holding it

Why it’s not a straight beginner recommendation:

  • Costs around €100/$100
  • Cleaning takes more effort than a standard onahole
  • The heart-shaped design is a bit awkward to grip with one hand
  • Large enough that storage and discretion become more of a consideration

But if your budget allows and you want something that feels like a real upgrade, this is one of the best value large toys I’ve tested.

What Makes an Onahole Beginner-Friendly?

best onaholes for beginners
  • Soft or medium-soft material. Aggressive textures and tight tunnels can be overwhelming on your first go. Softer materials are forgiving, comfortable, and just more enjoyable when you’re getting started.
  • Moderate stimulation. Some onaholes are designed to be intense, with lots of ridges, tight tunnels, and strong suction. That’s not what you want first. You want something that feels great without being over the top.
  • Easy to clean. This is the one beginners underestimate most. Cleaning your onahole properly is essential for hygiene and longevity, and some toys are significantly easier to clean than others. If it’s a pain to clean, you won’t do it properly, and that’s a problem.
  • Good durability. Cheap or ultra-soft toys can tear if you’re not already familiar with how much pressure they can take. Beginners should start with something resilient.
  • Manageable size. Giant onahips are fun, but they’re also harder to use, harder to store, and more effort to clean. Start with something handheld.

Beginner Brands Worth Starting With

You’ll see these names come up again and again in quality onahole reviews. All six are beginner-safe choices:

  • RideJapan: Masters of soft dual-layer design. If softness and bounce are your thing, they almost never miss.
  • Toy’s Heart: Consistent quality, unique material blends, and genuinely thoughtful tunnel designs. Underappreciated outside Japan.
  • Magic Eyes: Usually known for intense toys, but the Fluffy Mellow line is a clear exception. High production quality across the board.
  • NPG (Nippori Gift): Makes the Meiki series, which includes some of the most realistic onaholes ever produced. A premium brand worth investing in.
  • PeachToys: Seriously underrated. Unique designs, great material quality, and their dual-layer construction is some of the best in the industry.
  • XTC-Japan: Bold and creative, with a focus on unique form factors. The Step-Sister’s Secret Relation is one of the best value large toys I’ve tested.

What to Avoid on Your First Buy

  • ❌ Super tight or aggressive textures. Some onaholes are specifically designed to be intense, with heavy ridges, very tight tunnels, and strong suction. These can be overwhelming and potentially uncomfortable for first-timers.
  • ❌ Very cheap unbranded toys. The Japanese onahole market has a clear quality tier. Unbranded or very cheap options often use low-grade TPE that smells bad, degrades quickly, and can even cause skin irritation. Stick to reputable Japanese brands.
  • ❌ Giant onahips as your very first purchase. They’re fun, but they’re expensive, harder to store, and take more effort to clean. Get comfortable with a handheld first.
  • ❌ Novelty or ultra-complex designs. Toys with multiple chambers, extreme textures, or unusual mechanics are for experienced users. You won’t be able to appreciate them yet, and the complexity makes them harder to clean.
  • ❌ Oil-based lubes. Always use water-based lubricant with TPE toys. Oil-based or silicone-based lubes will degrade the material over time. This is non-negotiable.

FAQ

Do I need special lube? Yes, always use water-based lubricant. Any major brand works fine. For softer toys like the Mashiro or Tight Spiral Orb, a thicker water-based lube tends to work better.

What is TPE? TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) is the material used in almost all Japanese onaholes. It’s soft, body-safe, and stretchy. It’s also porous, which is why proper cleaning and drying matter so much.

Can I use any size? Most of the toys on this list are stretchy enough for anyone. The Tight Spiral Orb in particular is famous for how much it stretches despite having a narrow tunnel.

Should I powder my onahole? Yes. After it’s fully dry, a light dusting of onahole renewal powder (or plain cornstarch as a budget alternative) keeps the surface from getting tacky and extends the life of the toy significantly.

Open-ended or closed-ended? All the picks in this guide are closed-ended, which creates suction during use. Closed-ended toys are generally preferred for the sensation, but they do require a bit more care when cleaning.

How do I clean an onahole?

  1. Rinse with warm water and mild soap
  2. Use your fingers or a cleaning sponge stick to reach inside the tunnel
  3. Rinse thoroughly
  4. Dry completely before storing – moisture trapped inside is the main cause of mold and degradation

How do I store it?

  • Avoid cotton or paper storage – they absorb the oils from the TPE and cause the material to stiffen faster
  • Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • UV light and heat both degrade TPE over time
  • A breathable plastic bag or the toy’s original box both work well

Final Thoughts: Which One Should You Actually Buy?

Here’s the TLDR:

Any of these will be a great first onahole. They’re all from reputable brands, made with quality materials, and well within the beginner-friendly zone in terms of feel and maintenance.
