Design

Packaging, theme and specs

Max 2 by Lovense comes in a premium feeling, minimalistic box. The design is clean, showing only the product on the front with lots of white space. The whole unboxing experience reminded me of opening an Apple product. When you lift the lid, you get that satisfying vacuum pull, and inside the Max 2 sits securely in soft cushioning.

Max 2 itself is also very minimalistic and elegant. It has several grooves along the body that give you a good grip, and it’s reeeally big, about the size of a 1.5-liter bottle.

Hiding Max 2 might be tricky because of the size, but at the same time, it blends in easily because it can pass as almost any simple household device. I tested this in a few places: in the kitchen it looked like a smoothie blender, in the bathroom it resembled a small air purifier, and in the living room it looked like someone forgot a tall thermos bottle filled with Earl Grey tea. I think only someone actively searching for a sex toy would take a second look.

I’ve known Lovense for many years, but mostly for their toys aimed at female users. It’s nice to see that they also offer a solid lineup of male toys (both external and internal).

Max 2 is from Lovense and is an electric male sex toy. Measuring 242mm x 86mm with interchangeable vaginal tunnels, this versatile electric device weighs a massive 750g. It comes with 1 TPE though-hole insert and can be used with additional inserts. It features vibration and contraction modes.

Electric Features

Max 2 comes with a ton of features. It has two types of electronic stimulation: several vibration modes and three different contraction modes that mimic vaginal contractions. You can use it completely on its own, or connect it to the Lovense app for more options. It can also pair with a partner’s Lovense toy, which is great for long-distance relationships.

For solo play, you can sync Max 2 to different vibration and contraction patterns. Through the app, you can create your own patterns, use community-made ones, or try something new each time. You can also sync Max 2 with videos or even certain video games, letting the vibrations and contractions react to what you’re watching or playing.

For couples play, your partner can control the toy in real time through the app, no matter how far away they are. Max 2 also supports Lovense Toy Sync, meaning it can link with other Lovense toys. For example, pairing Max 2 with Nora allows both toys to react to each other for fully interactive two-way play from any distance.

The Inserts

I got two inserts for my Max 2: the default transparent one and the vagina sleeve in a nice beige. The transparent sleeve is firmer with a more pronounced texture, which I’d place at around “+1” on my softness scale. The beige sleeve is softer and milder, closer to a “0” on my softness scale.

But before getting into the how each sleeve feels, I want to mention my favorite thing about the Max 2: you can insert pretty much any onahole that’s small enough to fit. That alone made the experience extremely fun for me. Ever wanted your favorite onahole to vibrate? Now you can. Ever wanted it to mimic vaginal contractions? Also possible. You can insert any onahole that is shorter than 15cm and up to ~400g.

Once the inserts are placed inside the Max 2, they fit very well and don’t move around at all. Inside the case, there is a long cylinder that’s attached to the side. I’m guessing this is where the vibration unit is located. When using the toy upright, this area mainly stimulates the frenulum. If you flip the toy upside down, it primarily stimulates the glans instead.

At the back of the case, there is a hole that can be opened or closed. When closed, it seals the air inside and creates a vacuum. This vacuum produces very strong suction during use. Because the outer shell is made of solid plastic, there is a girth and length limit to this toy. If you are very girthy, it may feel too tight. If you have average girth or slightly above average, it will feel tight, but still comfortable.

Once you’re fully inserted and comfortable, you can turn on the device and choose from one of the many vibration patterns. You can use the patterns saved directly on the device, select patterns from the app, or even create your own. In addition, you can choose between three contraction modes, or combine contractions with vibration.

The contraction modes of Max 2 feel good and do a nice job mimicking vaginal wall contractions. It basically tightens and pulses. But it feels very mild an I do wish that the the sensation was a bit stronger. Still, this definitely adds to the immersion, especially when the device is synced to something you’re watching.

That said, I personally wouldn’t say these features are entirely my thing. Even though the vibrations feel good and the contractions are great, I still prefer a more traditional in-and-out motion. Because of that, I think my next electric toy will likely be one that focuses more on that type of movement like the Solace or Solace Pro.
However, for anyone who enjoys vibration and contraction-based stimulation, this toy should be very high on your wish list.

As for intensity, it’s difficult to give a single rating because it depends heavily on how the device is used. Whether you use vibration or not, contractions or not, suction or not, sync features or not, and whether you choose very intense or very mild patterns,… all of this changes the experience. Overall, I’d say the intensity can range anywhere from “-1 to +3” on my scale.

One thing worth mentioning is that Max 2 is fairly loud. It’s not extremely loud like a hair dryer, but it is loud enough that someone in the next room would hear it… at least faintly. Because of that, stealth use with the electric features isn’t really possible.
The quietest option is the basic vibration mode. When used under a blanket, it can be very quiet, almost unnoticeable. But once you start using stronger vibration patterns or the contraction modes, the noise becomes clearly audible.

Care

Cleaning:
The inserts of Max 2 are super easy to wash. Use mild soap or an onahole cleaner with water to rinse it thoroughly. You can also flip them inside out for cleaning, rinsing and drying. Once clean, make sure to dry them completely to prevent moisture buildup. The electric case can be rinsed with water as well, but don’t submerge it and read the instruction manual carefully.

Powdering:
To keep your inserts from getting sticky, apply a light coat of onahole powder or plain cornstarch. Brush off any excess, and it’ll feel just like real skin!

Storing:
Store your toy in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. UV rays can damage it, moisture can lead to mold, and heat can warp its shape. Over time, onaholes naturally lose some of their oils, which makes them firmer. This process happens faster if they’re in contact with materials like cotton, paper, or wood, which absorb oil. To minimize this, use a breathable plastic bag or container for storage. Additionally read the instruction manual for the electric component carefully.

Durability:
I’m guessing the electric case can be damaged if it’s submerged in water or dropped on the floor. But it seems very sturdy and mine doesn’t even have a single scratch after a bunch of uses. The inserts are also really sturdy for TPE sleeves.
And with gentle use and proper maintenance, your Max 2 should last for years!

Rating

7,5-9/10

My personal rating

One Toy, Endless Features: Vibrations, Contractions, App Control & Sync✨✨

Max 2 is a fantastic electric sex toy and definitely worth getting if you’ve ever wanted a proper electric toy. I’d rate it somewhere between 7,5/10 and 9/10, depending on which insert you use. With my Sao Awakening Bira Pechiko, it felt amazing and very close to a 10/10. The included insert is also great and I recommend adding the vaginal sleeve from Lovense as well.

I’ve tried vibrating toys in the past, but I had never used a toy that mimics contractions before, and that was a very pleasant surprise, and easily my favorite feature of Max 2. Being able to use it with a partner is incredibly fun, and even syncing it to a secondary toy for solo play unlocks a new experience. And there are other feature that many of you will probably want to try out as well, like being able to try patterns created by users from all over the world through the app, or syncing it to games and videos for extra immersion.

Pros

+ Premium, minimalistic design

+ Ability to insert your own handheld toys

+ App control adds a lot of value

+ Great for partner play

Cons

– The experience varies a lot depending on your setup: which insert you use, if you sync, couple’s play, …

My Trusted Store:
